| Staff at Solway Books are celebrating the news that the Kircudbright store has been featured in a list of top 50 bookshops in the UK. The list was drawn up by The Independent newspaper and is available to see online at the paper's website. The prestigious panel of judges included novelist Glenn Patterson, publishers Andrea Carpenter and Rebecca Nicolson and literary editor of The Independent, Boyd Tonkin. Solway director Keith Chadband said: "We are delighted to have been included in this list. Whilst we are aware of how much we are valued by our local customers it's always great to know that we feature on a national level as well."
