Solway Sunrise is the story of wild fowling and punt gunning on the Solway Firth in the 1960s and 70s as told by Willie Hughes of Creetown. Writing as The Ferryman, his stories appeared in the The Shooting Times and Country Magazine and are drawn together in one volume for the first time and edited by Desmond Batley. The book also contains new information about another Galloway name Adam Birrell. The stories have been reproduced with the kind permission of the Hughes family and The Shooting Times and the unique layout is the work of a local independent designer Mike Clayton.
