Wigtown Book Festival - Author's Books
 10th Anniversary Festival
It is a decade since Wigtown became Scotland's National Book Town. The 10th Anniversary Festival features around 150 writer's and performer at 10 venues in the town and surrounding area. Books for the various speakers at the event can be ordered from the Festival Online Book Shop below.
2008 Children's Programme An action packed programme for children of all ages features author such as Michael Morpurgo, Anne Fine, Ian Whybrow, Allan Burnett, Debi Glori, Keith Gray and many more. There is also a Festival Treasure Hunt which is free to enter and offers fantastic prizes with hundred of pounds worth of books to be won. Pick up a copy of the treasure map from the Festival Box Office and get hunting. There is a prize for each completed entry. There will also be lots of FREE Circus Fun including hoola-hooping and juggling outside the County Buildings during the weekends of the Festival.
The Book Tree Come along and add your favouite author, book or character to a leaf on the Festival Book Tree in the foyer of the County Buildings.
Festival Exhibition: The First Decade. 10am-4pm Bowling Pavilion (free) Wigtown became Scotland's National Book Town in 1988 with the first annual book festival held in the autumn of 1999. Through photographs, documents and personal reminiscences, this exhibition looks back at a decade of success.
